MIST : A late night stroll (Part I)

Hey everybody!
I hope you have enjoyed my latest project LIGHT SPEED. In this post I would like to introduce a new series called MIST: A late night stroll.  in which I will take a break from abstract photography and experiment with surrealism in landscape.
This was the product of one late night stroll around my neighborhood on a particularly foggy night, the scenery was so beautiful I had to ignore the fact that it was freezing out. With numb fingers and a frozen smile I pushed on with my late night journey. I love late nights because everything seems so different and surreal, what was familiar during the day seemed almost fictional at night. The only thing I could hear in the stillness of the air and the frozen silence was my own breath and heartbeat, which raced ever faster every time I discovered a good shot. The fog was thick and very fine ,like a silk blanket draping over everything, changing the shapes and outlines of all it touches. Street lights and porch lights tried to break unsuccessfully through the fog, making clear lines of light in the air, as if it was painted onto the scenery as an artist's afterthought. Walking in the middle of the street, there is something to be said about being the only observer to take in these scenery.  I felt a strange yet familiar sense of personal connection with my neighborhood, it was as if every street corner, every sign, every tree were furniture in my home and every scene I was witnessing was mine and mine alone.
I hope you enjoy this series as much as I have enjoyed making it. Next time when there's a night when you can't sleep or if it's foggy out or if the stars are out, I hope you take a late night stroll through the neighborhood and enjoy its surreal familiarity.
